Katelyn Alvarado is currently a 2nd-year undergrad at UCLA majoring in Human Biology and Society, B.S. Her research interests include biological indicators of stress, ACEs, and clinical applications of best ways to treat patients dealing with stress. She hopes to go on to medical school to apply all that she learns in her research.

Ayaan Ekram is currently a third-year undergraduate student studying Human Biology and Society at UCLA. His research interests are understanding the ways stress affects the body and its functions, specifically in ways that can be tackled to help individuals reduce the adverse effects on their own. He is pursuing a profession in medicine as a physician.

Katie is currently a project coordinator for an NIMH-funded research study at UCSF focused on studying late life depression and comorbid disorders. She is especially interested in the intersection of social and clinical psychology, specifically how an individual's socio-cultural background affects the ways they develop, process, and are treated for mental health conditions. She is applying to clinical psychology PhD programs this cycle.

Sutapa Goswami is a post-bacc RA at the cognitive electrophysiology team in the UX Lab at the Indian Institute of technology. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology from University of Delhi in 2023. Her research interests lie in utilizing psychophysiological and neuroimaging methods to investigate the multifaceted impact of ACEs on the socio-emotional and cognitive development of at-risk children, potentially leading to pathological and/or resilient trajectories. She is also passionate about testing the efficacy of mindfulness-based meditation and trauma-informed yoga in treating transdiagnostic pathological conditions. She'll be applying for Masters and PhD programs for the 2024-25 cycle.

Crystal Hsueh is an undergraduate student at UCLA. Her research interests are mental health disparities, neurodegenerative diseases, psychopathology, and stress. Crystal is on the pre-med track and planning on going to medical school when she graduates.

Japneet Kaur is a psychology student who completed her undergrad from University of Delhi, India. She is passionate about chronic stress, body dysmorphia, mood disorders, adverse childhood experiences, & resilience. She'll be applying to MA Clinical/Counseling Psych programs this cycle.

Lauren Kim is currently a project coordinator working on a collaborative study with UCLA, UCSF, and Stanford to identify processes that can be targeted to reduce toxic stress effects and increase personalized resilience in California. She is interested in understanding how distress severity from psychopathological symptoms and hidden risk factors including trauma, stress, and/or adverse childhood experiences longitudinally influence an individual’s physical and mental health. Another facet of her research interest lies in the effective development of tailored evidence-based interventions to reduce health disparities in vulnerable communities. Lauren received her Psychology & Communication degree at UCLA.

Andrea Miller is a project coordinator and project lead working with Dr. Daniel Moriarity at UCLA’s Laboratory for Stress Assessment and Research. She graduated with an M.Sc. in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College London and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto. Andrea is particularly interested in the role of ovarian hormones on mental health. Her broader research interests include adverse childhood experiences, mechanisms of depression, sex differences, and mindfulness interventions.

Kayla is finishing her Master's in Psychological Research at Cal State Fullerton. Her interests lie in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology (CNP), namely neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive rehabilitation interventions. As an aspiring Clinical Neuropsychologist, she wants to create cognitive and psychological interventions to improve health outcomes for diverse and socially minoritized groups with neurodegenerative diseases. She will be applying to doctoral clinical psychology programs this cycle.

Nandani is a third year Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics major, with a minor in Spanish. Her research interests are nanotechnology, mental health disparities, immunology and sociology! She is currently on the Pre-Med track and is planning on going to medical school after undergrad.

Ritika Prasad is a third-year undergraduate at UCLA, pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience. Ritika is interested in the roles of social and psychological risk factors, as well as childhood and adolescence experiences, in the development and onset of mood and anxiety disorders; studying the interactions between local cultural and socioeconomic factors on the perception of stress and mental illness to better inform practice and research; exploring how different factors can be modified to minimize the adverse effects of traumatic experiences on health; improving the quality of care for diverse and underserved communities around the world, destigmatizing mental health issues, and working collaboratively with patients; developing personalized treatments, preventative methods and novel neuroscience-informed interventions to improve both mental and physical well-being. She plans on pursuing an MD or Psy.D., aspiring to become either a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist.

Abhinaya Sridhar is currently a final year Msc Clinical Psychology student at Christ University, India. Her research interests include ACEs, caregiver burden, children with autism and their sibling relationships, geriatric populations and their mental health, child-psychotherapy and parent-child relationships. She has interest and experience in both research and working with clinical populations through internships. She is applying for doctoral programs in the current cycle..

Devin is currently a post-bacc research assistant at the UCLA Laboratory for Stress Assessment and Research, UCLA Anxiety and Depression Research Center, and Penn State Laboratory for Anxiety & Depression Research. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2023. His research interests lie in investigating more precise methods and modeling in identifying and predicting psychiatric disorders. He is also passionate about examining risk factors and biological mechanisms of depression and anxiety. Devin is interested in working with clinical populations as he aspires to become a clinical psychologist. He is applying for Ph.D programs in clinical psychology for the 2024-25 cycle.

Luyan is currently a 4th year undergraduate student at UCLA studying Neuroscience and Global Health. Her clinical interests are anxiety, depression, oncology, and neurodevelopmental disorders. She is an aspiring doctor and will be applying to medical school in 2023.
